Making a Difference: Addressing Food Insecurity In Our Community

As a team, we believe in the power of community and the responsibility we all share in supporting those in need. Representing this belief, our Simplicity Air team stepped up to the plate to address a pressing concern – food insecurity. Throughout July, the team at Simplicity Air came together to support the Hagersville Food Bank, a vital resource in battling food insecurity within Haldimand County, through a month-long donation drive.

These efforts gathered an impressive 414 lbs in donations and reflect our commitment to the well-being of the community we serve. For the team at Simplicity Air, it reflects our company's commitment to our local well-being.

Dave Lane, Secretary for the Hagersville Food Bank, Board of Directors, expressed the importance of local businesses playing an active role in addressing food insecurity: "The summer months normally see a slowdown in donations and food drives as schools are out and people are focused on other things.  The efforts of Simplicity Air have greatly helped restock some of our shelves.  Even with school out, it is an ongoing function of the Food Bank to ensure that the children are provided with healthy snacks and fresh fruit and vegetables.  We are encouraged by the challenge taken up by the team at Simplicity Air and hope that other businesses in the community think of following these efforts."

Our team’s initiative serves as a beacon for community support, motivating other businesses to step forward to support a critical issue in our community, food insecurity, and the services working to address this growing concern. Together, we can create a stronger, more resilient community where no one should worry about where their next meal will come from.
