Supply Chain Specialist

Full Time | $36.20 per hour | 42.5 hrs./week - In-Person

About This Role

At Simplicity Air Ltd., we operate in a unique space: manufacturing, designing, installing, and servicing air conditioning, heating, and idle-reduction technologies for the heavy equipment, agriculture, specialty, work-truck, and off-road vehicle markets. We draw on our extensive field experience to design systems that balance serviceability, economics, and new technology, making our customers’ products better. We have achieved recognition as a market leader, supplying simple solutions to complex vehicle environmental and climate challenges.

Simplicity Air Ltd. has a current opening for a Supply Chain Specialist who can operate with urgency, think strategically, and take ownership of supplier performance, cost control, and material availability.

This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on supply chain professional who can balance day-to-day purchasing execution with longer-term planning. You are someone who can evaluate problems from multiple angles, negotiate effectively, and build strong supplier relationships, particularly in an international sourcing environment.

This is not a transactional purchasing role. We are looking for someone who can actively manage suppliers, challenge pricing, anticipate risks, and ensure production is never waiting on parts.

Job Purpose

The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for procuring materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and supplies necessary for manufacturing operations at optimal costs.

This role manages supplier and vendor relationships, negotiates pricing, and sources materials efficiently. It involves coordinating and negotiating with suppliers and vendors, resolving any issues that may cause delays, overseeing inventory levels, and resolving price discrepancies on purchase orders.

The Supply Chain Specialist works closely with the Operations, Quality, Engineering, and accounting teams to maintain optimal supply levels and support uninterrupted production.

The ultimate objective of this role is to ensure that Simplicity Air Ltd. minimizes costs by obtaining the necessary goods and services at the best possible price, quality, and terms.

Coordinating with suppliers: Negotiating contracts, evaluating performance, and ensuring a steady supply.

Inventory management: Stock control, demand forecasting, and optimizing inventory levels.

Supplier and Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors who can consistently meet delivery schedules and build mutually beneficial partnerships.

Purchase Order Management

  • Issue purchase orders to numerous vendors.
  • Verify pricing and lead times from vendors.
  • Follow up with vendors on incoming purchases.

ERP (Spire): Maintain accurate records of all purchasing and supply transactions in the ERP system.

Pricing: Update inventory pricing based on supplier cost increases from price lists, and purchase order updates.

Compliance: Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, legal requirements, and ethical standards in all supply chain and purchasing activities.

Collaborating with other departments: Integrating logistics with company procedures.

Experience and Qualifictions

  • Post Secondary Education in Supply Chain Management.
