Simplicity Air Ltd. has an immediate opening for a Sales Representative to cover Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. We are looking for experienced people who want to find a challenging and rewarding role where they learn something new daily and have a positive impact on the company. We want long-term enthusiastic people who enjoy their work as much as we do. We develop our products to make a difference in our unique space.  You will be an integral part of our sales team, responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships while promoting and selling our products and services.

The Sales Representative's primary focus will be on the OEM and Work Truck market segments including, A/C and Heating Systems and Hose Assemblies for manufacturers building Emergency Vehicles, Agricultural, Utility Vehicles, Speciality Vehicles, Heavy Duty Vehicles and Off-Road Vehicles. They will be required to offer a wide variety of solutions to new customers and grow partner relationships. Integrity, passion, and in-person presentational skills are essential for this role.

The Sales Representative is required to provide their execution strategy and planning every Quarter to execute and fulfill the company-set goals.

This is a new role created because of recent company growth and comes with a book of business but is a mostly untapped territory with significant potential. It is imperative for this role that the Sales Representative establishes ongoing rapport with potential customers.

Job Duties

  • Sell products to customers in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.
  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identifying potential customers and leads interested in purchasing company products and services.
  • Relationship Building: Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential customers, including other manufacturers and businesses.
  • Product Knowledge: Having a deep understanding of the company’s products, specifications, and applications to effectively communicate their value to customers.
  • Sales Presentations: Preparing and delivering product presentations and demonstrations to showcase the features and benefits of the company's products.
  • Negotiation: Negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions to close sales deals that are mutually beneficial to both the company and the customer.
  • Quoting and Proposals: Providing customers with accurate price quotes and proposals for the products they are interested in.
  • Market Analysis: Conducting market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities for the company.
  • Sales Targets: Meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas set by the company by communicating with existing and prospective customers on a regular basis through emails, phone calls, in-person visits, and presentations, while building rapport and learning their needs.
  • Customer Support: Offering post-sale support to customers, addressing their inquiries, and concerns, and assisting with any issues that may arise.
  • Collaboration: Coordinating with other departments within the organization, such as engineering, production, and customer service, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Reporting: Providing regular sales reports and updates to management regarding sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
  • Creates business strategies and tasks while ensuring timelines are followed to achieve the annual business objective/sales goal.
  • Attend trade shows as required.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Candidates would ideally be in Ohio, Michigan or Indiana.

Quality Manager

The Quality Manager's responsibilities include developing and maintaining FMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and internal audit systems, and creating and implementing processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and quality. Other responsibilities will include resolving product issues, identifying defects, and production errors and customer support.

The Quality Manager must possess the capabilities to drive the requirements into the development and continuous improvement of products and processes. The ideal candidate is expected to proactively identify where processes can be adapted and optimized to ensure cost-effectiveness and to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and maintain control plans, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis for all new and current programs.
  • Leading a cross-functional team to investigate quality issues and recommend technical solutions.
  • Develop and implement quality management systems and processes.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of quality control and assurance.
  • Follow up on crucial engineering change activities to ensure ECNs are processed seamlessly.
  • Track and resolve open issues pertaining to new product launches, develop control documents and other Customer-required quality documentation.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of quality control and assurance.
  • Responsible for Non-Conformance issues and warranty.
  • Ensure great customer relations are developed and maintained.
  • Clearly and consistently communicate customer expectations to the Organization.
  • Provide written technical responses to customers on quality issues.
  • Perform Quality-Engineering activities for internal issues. (e.g., problem-solving, process audits, internal auditing, etc.).
  • Responsible for internal systems audit.
  • Liaison with Customers on quality issues, travel to customer locations to orchestrate, sort, confirm issues and conduct investigations.
  • Provide written technical responses to Customers on quality issues, i.e. CAR, 8D, 5 Why, etc.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics to identify trends and areas of concern.
  • Conduct workflow analysis and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma/Program in Technology, quality management, or Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years of direct work experience in a Quality management capacity.
  • 5 years of practical experience with risk management, product testing, capability studies, and control plans.
  • Experience in taking at least one project through launch plus at least one year of subsequent production.
  • Expertise in FMEA and PFMEA techniques.
  • Knowledge and execution experience of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Good current working knowledge of AIAG standards.
  • Quality Control background including problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to create and review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and design documents.
  • Sound technical background (hands-on) with a logical deductive reasoning approach (natural Engineer type).
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to create and execute project plans that have achieved the identified targets.
  • Professional/mature demeanour under stressful situations.

PLC Programmer

Simplicity Air Ltd. has an immediate opening for a PLC Programmer. We are looking for experienced people who want to find a challenging and rewarding role where they learn something new daily and impact the company. We want long-term, enthusiastic people who enjoy their work as much as we do. We develop our products to make a difference in our unique space. 

The PLC Programmer is responsible for analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, maintaining, and commissioning control programs for systems designed to operate alone or integrated into commercial and emergency vehicles, Class 1 through Class 8 trucks and off-highway equipment. This position also collaborates with other System Techs and the mechanical engineering team.

Job Duties:

  • Write PLC code, analyze, simulate, test, maintain and document machine control systems CoDeSys software experience is beneficial but not necessary.
  • Detail electrical and logical schematics and drawings for wiring harnesses using AutoCAD or similar.
  • Install, test, and validate prototype systems and changes on simulators and live vehicles.
  • Organize and manage tasks to keep projects on time and on budget.
  • Maintain a catalogue of compatible vehicles and update as relevant new vehicles become available.
  • Travel to vehicle and/or customer sites to obtain vehicle data or for customer support.
  • Contribute to the creation of new and/or improved processes and procedures that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of engineering work.
  • Follow all relevant processes and procedures.
  • Log project time in Zoho so it may be applied/billed accurately.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure project success.
  • Keep up with current and developing engineering trends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma/Program in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years of direct work experience with Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on control experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of PLC-based machine control systems.
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Control Systems is required.
  • General knowledge of Electrical standards is required.
  • Excellent grasp of diverse, fundamental electrical engineering concepts and relationships.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Futures Program – Details

  • Open to youth who have completed high school and are considering a trades school/apprenticeship.
  • Applicants must submit a short video showcasing their interest in a Trades career and how the program will benefit their path forward.
  • The program candidate will be paid a competitive hourly wage under the title of Technician’s Helper.

  • This role will expose the candidate to all aspects of Mobile Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning Service, and Idle Management systems in relation to the specialized services delivered through Simplicity Air. This will involve working alongside Simplicity Air Technicians and gaining valuable skills and understanding from decades of hands-on and learned experience.

  • Individuals in this role will provide regular feedback to showcase their development within the program.

  • Hours worked within the Futures Program may also apply toward apprenticeship hours for the following apprenticeships: Agricultural Equipment Technician, Automotive Service Technician, Powered Lift Truck Technician, Truck and Coach Technician, and Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician.

  • Candidates completing the program successfully and with a record of high performance will also be eligible to receive a tool bursary of up to $1500.00 to apply to tools and equipment benefiting their future training/education.
